I purchased and installed these springs about 2.5 months ago, took me all of 20 minutes including doing some other maintenance at the same time (i.e. Oil Filter screen cleaning, replacing drain plug with a magnetic one). If you've worked on this or other bikes in the past, you may be able to do this work in as little as 15 minute. If you've only done other minor work and this would be the first time getting into the engine, so to speak, take your time. Follow the step by step directions and it still shouldn't take you more than 30 to 40 minutes (this assumes that you have all that you need on hand of course :) )

Installation is easy and Marvin's instructions (and I believe he even has some videos on the job now too) make everything clear and are BANG ON! All you will need to do the job is basic hand tools that you should have in your tool box, something like a Bungee cord or other cord to hold back the cover, some fresh oil (preferred), something to clean the Oil Screen with (like Varsol or other type of solvent), a drain pan to catch the old oil, some rags/shop towels and it's a good idea to pick up a replacement Transmission Gasket just in case as some times they can tear (I had one on hand, but didn't need it). It will depend on how long the original gasket has been on the bike. The gasket is cheap BTW so I would spring for it to have on hand.

On the 'Difficulty Scale' I would say that it is a 2 wrench's out of a possible 5 wrench's. The only thing that is easier to do is replacing your Oil only, or replacing the various bulbs on your bike!! If you have to also replace the gasket, it would go from a 2 to a 2.5 and that's only if you have a hard time cleaning off the old gasket material.

OK, so after the installation and putting in some fresh oil, time for a test ride!

WOW!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! They make the stock springs feel like a joke!! I don't understand why Honda uses such weak springs. I also have to wonder just how much of my clutch plates life has been lost over the years!!! These replacement / upgrade springs should be either stock from Honda, or installed after say the first or second Service Work.

The first thing I noticed was how much faster the clutch would 'grab' or engage. The first time I stalled the bike as I was expecting the same as with the stock springs for grab and hold. It took a bit of getting use to (like less than 5 minutes) but the difference between these springs and the stock Honda springs is STAGGERING!!! I can actually feel that the engine and transmission are now working as they are supposed to!

You will NOT believe just how much better these springs 'feel' during all phases of riding. Gearing up and gearing down, you will feel that the transmission now feels as if they are working as one unit and as it should!!

These springs will have you convinced that you have a new, or different bike! You will also wonder why you didn't do this sooner!
