Hi Folks!
I'm about to do some routine maintenance on the CBR 125r (in this case an engine overhaul) so I thought I would post up a thread about it and make a 'new' blog too
This summer, during Nitrous testing, I holed a piston (too much timing/not enough Octane). This was before I was blending 100 octane fuel. In fact, this was the reason I
started blending 100 Octane fuel
Anyway, instead of effecting a proper repair at the time, I elected to chuck in a used piston and rings that I had lying around. The reason for it was that the engine was going to be subjected to further abuse (testing) and there was no point in wrecking good parts.
Fast forward to today, and most all of the testing has been completed, and the engine is now (finally) using a fair bit of oil. Bear in mind, I think it had at least 20K on it and it was very hard mileage. Many destructive Nitrous tests, Quite a bit of time at +13,500 RPM (actual) and now it's showing it's wear.
